Please join MWHS and Northern Waters Genealogical Society for a guided cemetery walk to hear  “Stories Beneath the Stones” of 6 pioneers from the earliest days of Manitowish Waters.   Volunteers in character will offer historical reflections of each pioneer’s experience during our town’s colorful past.

In case of rain event will be held at the community center.

Attendees will visit six gravesites located in close proximity in the older section of the cemetery. Historical presentations will be given at the gravesites of Emil Wanatka, John LaFave, Audrey Voss Dickerson, George LaPorte, Peter Vance, and Chief Basil DeCoteau, by local volunteers

The presentation at each gravesite will last about 7 minutes with a total tour time of one hour. Attendees should be prepared to be walking and standing for at least an hour. The cemetery is fairly level, but comfortable walking shoes are suggested. No tours will begin after 7 pm.
