As the ice goes out on the MW chain, it is time to get ready for your favorite virtual pontoon ride via Zoom!  Explore the amazing histories of Alder and Wild Rice lakes. Learn how the eastern portion of the chain holds some of the most interesting stories. We will explore Indigenous communities, loggers, a summer camp and the rise of resorts. A late 19th century canal system that linked the Manitowish chain to Lac du Flambeau was unique within the Northwoods. Most importantly, we will celebrate the early residents and visitors who helped shape our community.
