Partridge Lake and Creek Hike
April 22 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm$40 – $50
Friday: 9 am – 4 pm
Join local historian Jim Bokern of the Manitowish Waters Historical Society and a North Lakeland Discovery Center naturalist on a fascinating hike through history along the old Milwaukee Road Railroad grade that created the towns of Star Lake, Boulder Junction and Buswell. We will explore the Milwaukee Road Railroad, historic logging, Indigenous People travel routes, and the people that lived in this area over a century ago and walk in their footsteps. Habitat diversity is a hallmark of this hike, providing numerous naturalist discoveries in a wild setting. This is mostly an off trail, strenuous four- to five-mile hike with two wetland crossings but will not disappoint!
Space is limited, so please register early; $50 ($40 for members of the NLDC or MWHS). Register at the North Lakeland Discovery Center (www.discoverycenter.net). For more information, contact the NLDC (715-543-2085 or at [email protected]).
Registered participants will receive an email with location and program details prior to the program. The NLDC will provide a shuttle to the trailhead, allowing participants to park where the hike ends.
