Original Survey Maps from the Manitowish Waters area 1850’s & 1860’s

First, the Original Survey Manitowish Waters Township plat map from 1860-1862.  Please view, a second image below the plat map. The second image is of the 1862 field notebook from the surveyors describing timber that will be taken to market by river soon.  If this notation is accurate the historic start date for logging would be the 1860's, upsetting most current accounts of historic logging in the area.
