The Ranger Cabin pictured below from the northwoods as an exemplar included the Lookout Tower as part of context.  This image came from a 1913 Forestry Report and the site is from the region but not Rest Lake.

The red arrow in this 1937 aerial photo illustrates a clearing around the lookout tower that contains several buildings.  This is likely the site of the Rest Lake Ranger Station.  The yellow arrow marks the Tower Bar (Anglers) for context.
