Exploring Rest Lake’s Amazing History by Pontoon Boat

Join Manitowish Waters Historical Society historian Jim Bokern on a two-hour pontoon tour of Rest Lake, which will depart from Rest Lake Park. Discover the Indigenous People cultural networks, logging camps, railroad landing, one of the state’s earliest forest ranger stations, Rest Lake Dam mysteries, unique residents, homesteads, early resorts and businesses. While traveling along the shores of Rest Lake, participants will view many unique historic sites that will be supplemented with historic images and documents.
