Join Kay Krans of the Manitowish Waters Historical Society on August 13, 2026 for one of two (morning or afternoon) Historic Manitowish Waters Crime Pontoon Tours.

Learn about gangsters in the Northwoods while enjoying a comfortable pontoon boat tour of the famous Manitowish Waters Chain of Lakes. You will learn how local citizens got involved in the liquor trade and were able to supply bootleg alcohol to Chicago and Minneapolis. Hear the story about the kidnapping of Minneapolis mob boss Leon Gleckman and the place the kidnappers hid him. Ralph Capone has a Manitowish Waters story as well. John Dillinger and his gang were not only at Little Bohemia but made themselves known to several families as they were trying to escape the FBI trap.

Each tour offers a mix of local history and beautiful lake views.
