Thursday: 3 pm – 7 pm

Learn about Manitowish Waters (MW) history and visit some of our social establishments as we hike at a leisurely pace on area trails. Using tour guide headsets, participants can easily hear and learn from Manitowish Waters Historical Society (MWHS) and North Lakeland Discovery Center guides. Trail discussions will include geology, nature, prehistoric, Ojibwa culture, logging, early resorts, guides, Rest Lake Ranger station and more. We will stop into several local establishments for refreshments and amazing stories about our town’s past. The route is 3.5 miles and mostly along existing trails. We will start at Koller Park and follow bike and hiking trails to the Manitowish River and back to Koller Park.
