MW Historical Society: History of Logging and Railroads in the Northwoods

July 27 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Join us and discover the rich and unique heritage of WinMan trails from 3-5pm on Saturday July 27th at the WinMan Chalet.

Jim Bokern from the Manitowish Waters Historical Society will be sharing a fascinating conversation regarding the history and importance of logging and railroads in the Northwoods.

Jim will address the unique significance of the land where WinMan currently sits and its impact on those industries. He will take you through 100+ years of logging, right up to modern day logging operations and the importance it still has on the health and vitality of our forests.

Then, to top things off, we will be tapping a special keg of Camp 660 Beer. Brewed based on a pre-prohibition Schlitz pilsner recipe in honor of Camp Mercer located just a few miles away, we are sure you will enjoy it.

The event is FREE to attend but $10 donations to the MW Historical Society are encouraged. Beers will be sold for $6/pint with $1 from each sale going to the Historical Society. The event is open to the public, and there is no need to register.
